iPRES 2022 is hosted by the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC).

The DPC is an international charitable foundation which supports digital preservation, helping its members around the world to deliver resilient long-term access to digital content and services through community engagement, targeted advocacy work, training and workforce development, capacity building, good practice and standards, and through good management and governance. Our vision is a secure digital legacy. 2022 marks the 20th year of the DPC’s collaborative vision for the digital preservation community.

Organizing Committees

iPRES 2022 is being delivered by the coordinated work of three committees.

  • The Local Organizing Committee is a small decision-making group which has been meeting since 2017. It is responsible for logistics and smooth delivery of the conference. It includes staff of the DPC as well as our professional conference organizer InConference.

  • The Program Committee is a larger deliberative boy responsible for developing the conference themes and ensuring the quality and design of the conference program. It includes members of the DPC from around the world as well as future and previous conference hosts. Although the core of the Program Committee has been formed ahead of the launch, there will be an opportunity for members of the DPC to self-nominate to the Program Committee in November 2022.

  • The Legacy Development Group is an open group of local institutions charged with ensuring that the effort which we are putting into hosting iPRES pays a dividend for DPC members and the wider digital preservation community in Scotland.

All three committees are accountable to the DPC’s global membership through the Representative Council and Executive Board.

Venue

The 18th iPRES conference will take place at the inspiring Technology & Innovation Centre (TIC) in Glasgow City Centre. A purpose built and state of the art conference facility, the TIC has capacity for 450 delegates in a range of versatile spaces and is ideally placed for visitors to Glasgow.
